Delete your account

Last updated: October 2026

You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app. Profile → Account & data → Delete account. It is permanent, it takes effect immediately, and there is no undo. If you cannot reach the app, write to privacy@teeuphouse.com from the address on the account and we will do it for you within 30 days.

This page explains how to delete your TeeUp House account and exactly what happens to your data when you do. You do not need the app installed to read it. If you only want a copy of your data, you do not have to delete anything — see “Get a copy first” below.

1. Who can delete an account

Any member can delete their own account, and only their own. Nobody else — not another player, not a club, not our own staff acting on a stranger’s word — can delete it for you: our staff delete an account only when its holder asks by email and we have checked that the request really comes from them (section 3). Before anything is deleted in the app, it asks you to prove it is you a second time: your password, or a fresh sign-in with Google or Apple if that is how you joined. A valid session on an unlocked phone is deliberately not enough on its own.

2. Delete it from the app

  1. Open TeeUp House and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Tap Account & data.
  3. Scroll to Delete account and tap Delete my account.
  4. Confirm your identity — type your password, or confirm with Google or Apple — and tap Confirm and delete.

You are signed out of every device straight away, and the account cannot be signed into again.

Get a copy first, if you want one

On the same Account & data screen, Show my data summary lists, in summary form, what we hold about you — how many listings, sales, reviews and rounds, for example. If you want a full copy, ask for it before you delete: write to privacy@teeuphouse.com from the address on the account and we will send it within one month. Once the account is deleted we can no longer tell which data was yours.

3. If you cannot open the app

If you have lost the phone, cannot sign in, or have already removed the app, email privacy@teeuphouse.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. Please say that you want your account deleted and give the @handle it uses. We will check that the request really comes from the account holder and then delete the account within 30 days — the same deletion described below. If we cannot establish that the request comes from you, we will not delete the account, because doing so on an unverified request would let anyone destroy someone else’s account.

4. What is deleted outright

These are removed — records from our database, files from our storage — not merely hidden:

  • your sessions, and the Google or Apple sign-in link if you used one;
  • your password-reset and email-verification records;
  • your push-notification tokens and every notification we had stored for you;
  • your notification areas — the places you asked to be told about, with their centre and radius;
  • the clubs, pro shops and agencies you follow;
  • your identity-check applications and the document images behind them, deleted from storage at whatever stage the review had reached. If our storage cannot be reached in that moment, the files are queued and deleted on retry — the address of each file is written down before the application record goes, so nothing is left behind unreferenced;
  • your @handle, which is released so it becomes available again;
  • your profile photo, and the photos, videos and voice messages you sent in chats — the files themselves, deleted from our storage and removed from the conversations they were sent in. If our storage cannot be reached in that moment, the files are queued and deleted on retry;
  • your stories, together with their photos and videos.

5. What is anonymised

Your account row itself is not dropped — deleting it outright would take down records that other people are part of, such as a round you both played or an order someone else paid. Instead it is stripped of everything that points to you and marked as deleted. Your name becomes Deleted User, and the following are cleared: your email address and password, the link to your profile photo, bio, date of birth, gender, country, @handle, handicap, golf federation, club, licence number, home course, both verification badges and their stamps, your payment-provider identifiers, your roles and permissions, your membership tier, your notification preferences, and your stored approximate location together with the consent that allowed it.

6. What stops immediately

  • listings you had for sale are taken down;
  • rounds you were hosting that had not been played yet are cancelled — open or already full;
  • any sale still waiting for an answer is withdrawn, whether you were the seller or the buyer, so nobody is left holding a confirmation request from an account that no longer exists;
  • your tee time requests are cancelled — confirmed ones included — so their places go back to the club or agency that published the time;
  • a service that a pro shop or agency recorded for you and that you had not answered yet is withdrawn.

7. What stays, and why

  • Orders — payment records are kept for accounting and legal reasons. They stay attached to the anonymised account, so the record survives without naming you.
  • Things you wrote about other people — comments, course reviews, reviews of pro shops and agencies, ratings of players and reviews you left after a sale stay where they are, together with their photos, attributed to a deleted account. Removing them would rewrite someone else’s profile or a course’s rating.
  • Messages you sent — the text, and any location you shared, stays in the other people’s conversations, shown as coming from a deleted account. The photos, videos and voice messages you sent are deleted (section 4).
  • Your posts — these are not deleted, and people who followed you can still see them, with their photos, but they no longer appear on your profile, in Discover or its search, or on hashtag and course pages.
  • Your listings — taken off sale (section 6), but the records stay, with their photos, because sales and reviews refer to them.
  • Records of play and trade — rounds, scorecards and tournament entries, and confirmed sales and services, because they are part of other people’s results and histories.
  • Connections and reports — your friends, follows, favourites and blocks, and the reports and feedback you sent us, stay with the anonymised account.

8. How long it takes

In the app it is immediate. Everything above happens while you wait: sessions end first, then the account is anonymised in a single step that either completes or does not happen at all, and the files listed in section 4 are deleted from our storage. If you ask by email, we do the same within 30 days. There is no grace period and no way to restore the account afterwards — if you want to come back later you will have to sign up again as a new member, and nothing from the old account carries over.

9. More detail

Section 5 of our Privacy Policy covers retention, and section 6 covers the rest of your rights — access, correction, export and complaint. For anything not answered here, write to privacy@teeuphouse.com.
